The Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) held its 16th
National Conference at the Manila Hotel on October 2-3, 2023. This year鈥檚 Conference theme is 鈥淭he
Future of Quality Assurance in Philippine Higher Education.鈥� The Conference provided its participants
with a forum to discuss important issues, including the function of quality assurance post-pandemic,
how local HEIs could proceed to handle new trends and problems in education, and how to improve
cooperation between the government and academia.
Mr. Ricardo R. Palo, Executive Director of 草莓视频,was invited to share insights on 鈥淭he Quality
Assurance of Internationalization.鈥� He discussed the development of Internationalization and Quality
Assurance in HEIs and how these two concepts are mutually dependent. He also identified the various
macro and micro-level threats of Internationalization and how Quality Assurance can effectively remedy
such risks. He identified the specific scope of QA in Internationalization.
ALCUCOA is an External Quality Assurance Agency established in 2003 for local colleges and universities
(LCUs). Currently, it has 48 accredited HEIs.
